01.02.2020, Riga - Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to the Republic of Latvia expresses deep regret at the passing of Mr. Leons Briedis - poet, novelist, literary critic, essayist, and translator of prose and poetry from over 20 languages. Leons Briedis and his wife Maria Briede-Macovei were awarded the “Civic Merit” Medal on October 12, 2016 by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova for their valuable contribution to deepening Moldovan-Latvian friendly relations.
