History of the Embassy

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Latvia were established on September 1, 1992.

On August 26, 1991, the Republic of Moldova recognized the restoration of the independence of the Republic of Latvia.

On January 28, 1992, the Republic of Latvia recognized the independence of the Republic of Moldova.

The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the Republic of Latvia was officially opened on November 14, 2005, in Riga.

The Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in the Republic of Moldova was officially opened on June 12, 2014, in Chisinau.
