During the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on the current degree of interinstitutional cooperation between the two states, the desire to increase trade in agri-food products, but also the high value of the sectoral expertise exchange in the context of the Republic of Moldova’s European integration agenda.

In this context, the common interest in deepening the interaction between the line ministries, but also the specialized agencies in areas such as food security or the veterinary sector was confirmed. A special topic addressed was the opportunities for cooperation in education and research between higher education institutions specialized in the agri-food sector. It was also agreed to help facilitate direct and active contacts between Moldovan and Latvian agricultural producers' associations.
